The design of this nice two storey apartment have completed by MU Architect. Located just above a Tampopo Restaurant, a popular Asian restaurant in Montreal Canada. The clients, Marie-Michele Dubois and David Leblanc, want to have a two bedrooms and supporting rooms such as bathrooms, walk in closet, kitchen area, also an open living area with a terrace. A spacious impression that is present in their homes is highly expected.

In order to achieve the impression of a spacious area in this apartment , a space program is created in such a way by putting the private spaces such as bedrooms and bathrooms that required a massive wall on one side of the building (north side), so this can be generated a quite enough space on the other side (south side), which in this case, serves as a living area, dining area, kitchen area on the first level, and a small seating area that directly connects to the wide terrace on the second level.

This nice two storey apartment has two terraces on both sides. On each edge of terrace contained a path of vegetation to put the plant. One of this terrace (north side) which is more wide than the other, oriented to enjoy the sun throughout the day, and provided with a Jacuzzi, and an “L-shape” sofa, or if necessary also can be placed a table and chairs for certain occasion such as a barbeque. While the other terrace is more likely as a place for family activities and more private, so the wall is made higher than the other terrace.

Maybe you will expect that the interior of this nice two storey apartment will be filled with natural materials such as wood, because the façade of this building it looks natural. I was also expected as it was, but surprisingly, the interior of this apartment is very modern look and clean. The interior was dominated by white (walls) and gray (concrete floor). The fireplace is covered with a layer of blue steel. The glossy effect in some furnitures. Only the stairs that use the natural material as a folded solid wood plane with a single sheet of tempered glass serves as the guard rail.

Overall, on this project, MU Architect with the architectural skills, travel experience and client management strength has successfully to create a spacious impression, and inviting place to live in this nice two storey apartment.
